A man was airlifted to hospital after his car collided with a tree on a road between Canterbury and Faversham.

The accident happened on Canterbury Road, Dunkirk, at 10.10am yesterday (Sunday, February 3).

Police say the grey Peugeot 307 struck the tree after leaving the road close to the junction with Courtenay Road.

The victim, a man in his 50s, was taken by air ambulance to a London hospital where he remains in a serious condition.

Officers from Kent Police’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit are investigating the incident and are appealing for any witnesses who may have seen the vehicle immediately before or at the time of the collision. They are also asking for anyone who may have dashcam footage to come forward.
