The city’s two Wetherspoons pubs are holding an 11-day gin festival later this month.
Gin lovers will be able to try brands from Japan, Portugal, Spain, Germany and Italy as well as gins produced in the UK.
The festival will run from Friday, August 17 to Monday, August 27 inclusive at The Thomas Ingoldsby in Burgate and The West Gate Inn in North Lane.

Simon Pitcher, manager at The West Gate Inn manager, said “The majority of gins in the festival have not been available in the pub beforehand and I am looking forward to serving them.
“The festival promises to be great fun and I am certain that customers will enjoy trying the superb range of gins we have on offer.”
During the festival there will be numerous award-winning gins among the selection as well as a choice of flavoured gins.
The five overseas gins are Gin Mare from Spain, Roku from Japan, a German variety of gin called Monkey 47 Schwarzwald Dry Gin, Portugeuese Sharish Blue Magic Gin and Malfy Gin Con Limone from Italy.
The UK gins will include Jawbox Single Dry Gin, Masons Dry Yorkshire Gin, Wrecking Coast Clotted Cream Gin, Brecon Special Reserve, Finni’s Black Bee Gin and Bathtub Gin.
The gins will range in price from £2.99 to £4.50 for a single measure and include a free mixer.
All of the gins will be served in a Copa de Balon glass, which is bulbous in shape like a balloon and is said to be perfect for drinking gin and tonic.
Tasting notes on all of the gins will be available in the pubs upon request.
