Griff Rhys Jones will be speaking at a special event at the University of Kent next month.
The actor and comedian is president of Civic Voice, a national charity which promotes civic pride in aims to make the UK a more attractive place.
His talk will argue that the planning system has been handed into the control of the construction industry and will examine what the implications are for their growth and heritage.

The talk takes place in the Templeman Lecture Theatre on the Canterbury campus from 6.30pm to 7.30pm on Monday, September 3.
No booking is required with seats available on a first come, first served basis. Parking is free on the campus from 5pm.
