Hi-speed train services cancelled due to weather

Southeastern Trains has today (Thursday) been forced to cancel services due to the weather.

It says that a cold night has iced over power lines on the hi-speed service which operates from Canterbury West to St Pancras.

Commuters have taken to social media to vent their fury.

Jon Fear said: “Got to tell my boss I’m really late because it was a bit frosty last night.

“Do you realise how pathetic that sounds?”

Southeastern has apologised for the delays.

Well I had freezing rain on my car windscreen this morning. Not sure if that was forecast and would be enough to stop trains if it formed on catenary wires.
