UPDATED: Road closed after pedestrian falls from bridge

A person has fallen 45ft from a bridge over Canterbury’s ring road.

Police and paramedics were called to Pin Hill where a footbridge connects Station Road East with the City Wall at just after 4am today (Saturday).

It is not yet known how badly the person was injured.

Police closed the section of carriageway leading from the Riding Gate Roundabout to the Wincheap Roundabout. It was reopened around 5.30am.

The man, who is in his 20s, suffered injuries to his legs in the incident.

He was taken to a local hospital. His injuries were not believed to be life threatening or changing.
