Much of the Westgate Gardens in Canterbury is under water today.
The River Stour has spilled over its southern bank and flooded the grassy areas which will become increasingly popular as the summer kicks in.
Yesterday’s ferocious lashings of rain across Kent deluged the river as it wended its way through eastern half of the county and into the sea.

The Stour was also high close to the Miller’s Arms pub and Solly’s Field.
Forecasters had predicted heavy rain across the south-east yesterday and had issued a severe weather warning for the area.
Emergency services were called to deal with a number of incidents across east Kent including a tree which fell across a major road.
