Commuters boarding trains between Dover and Faversham this morning are being warned there may be delays after a car drove on to the tracks at Teynham last night.
The British Transport Police were called to the village after a white Ford turned on to the tracks at the Lower Road crossing at around 1am.
It meant that the power to the line was turned off as the vehicle awaited recovery.
The car was removed at around 3am, but train operator Southeastern has warned that there may be knock-on delays on the line to London Victoria this morning.
Police have reported the driver of the car for various offences.
