Firefighters were called to deal with a thatched roof on fire last night.
They went to the tea kiosk in Tower Hill, Whitstable, at 10.30pm after receiving a report about the blaze.
Crews wearing breathing apparatus tackled the blaze using hose reel jets and a main jet.
Flames had severely damaged the building and firefighters had to cut away a large section of the roof away.
There were no reported injuries. The cause of the fire is not yet known.
Crews left the scene just before 2am.
