Wetherspoon in Canterbury is holding a drink sale

City pubs to hold January drinks sale

Canterbury’s two Wetherspoon pubs are holding a January drink sale.

It started this week at the Thomas Ingoldsby in Burgate and The West Gate Inn in North Lane and runs until Thursday, January 17.

West Gate Inn manager Simon Pitcher said: “Department stores and shops hold their sales in January, so it is the perfect time to have a sale in the pub too.

“The range of drinks on sale in the pub is aimed at suiting a wide variety of tastes. The January Sale will prove popular with our customers and as always staff in the pub will serve customers responsibly.”

The sale includes a lager, a craft beer, two ciders, red and white wines, gin, vodka, cocktail pitchers and soft drinks.

It is about time all pubs and bars made their prices public…and I don’t mean the list tucked round the corner of the bar that none can see. I looked at one on request in a pub near to the cathedral where the average price of a pint seemed to be almost at £5; and that is not for craft beers .
