A 41-year-old man was arrested for criminal damage after a car fire on the M2 near Faversham.
Police were called to Brenley Corner where the M2 meets the A2 and A299 Thanet Way at just after 8.15pm on Monday night (February 4).
Drivers trying to get to Canterbury and Dover or the coastal towns and the Isle of Thanet found the eastbound carriageway shut while emergency services dealt with the incident.

Firefighters were called in to tackle the blaze while police connected the vehicle to a man with links to the Faversham area.
The 41-year-old was subsequently arrested for criminal damage and remains in custody.
