Kent County Council is warning drivers to expect delays as they make way into and around Canterbury this morning.
Its highways units says the A257 Littlebourne Road leading to St Martin’s Hill and Longport is especially slow.
The authority also reports “slow moving traffic in both directions on the A28 Wincheap between A2 and Wincheap Roundabout, expect delays”.

Meanwhile drivers at the Old Gate Inn where the Old and New Dover Roads meet are being warned to expect an 11-minute peak time journey time into the city centre.
Canterbury City Council’s policy and resources met last night to discuss air quality issues.
The meeting heard that congestion and therefore pollution are worse in term time for the city’s universities and schools.
They have now started their summer terms, the last in the academic year.
